Sympathy Cards- What inspires you? I have a difficult time creating Sympathy Cards in advance. I have never made one to sell.
I hear how difficult making Sympathy cards are. I just think of the person and my hands do the rest. Here are three simply yet beautiful cards. For me sympathy cards should be simple yet elegant. What about you? What do you like in a sympathy card? When I have lost someone dear to me I just let my hands go through the motions while I think of the loved one lost. I just got back from a funeral of one of my uncles. He was sick for many years and my aunt took very good care of him for all of those years. I hope she finds solace in the fact that he no longer suffers. His is with his darling daughter who passed just over a year before him. The bird represents freedom. He is now free from the long suffering he had to endure for over 10 years. The colors- well I used purple which I read was appropriate for masculine sympathy cards. I sponged the background hoping it represents the outdoors, sky, (purple/blue; sun(two shades of yellow) and the green (grass). I embossed the background with the striped embossing folder just to give it the masculine look. Each of the others represent different feelings for me.
All or most of my Sympathy cards now are based on a stamp set in the Stampin’ Up catalog. I love this stamp set and will be sad to see it go.Here are a couple of Sympathy cards I have made throughout with this stamp set.
As you can see – same stamp set-different feeling for each.
